NIOC, Dutch Shell to sign oil deal

NIOC, Dutch Shell to sign oil deal

TEHRAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – NIOC and Royal Dutch Shell will sign cooperation deal in petrochemical industry behind closed doors, reporters say.

In the private ceremony, British and Dutch ambassadors to Tehran will also attend. Marziyeh Shahdaei deputy-Oil Minister and Director for projects at National Petrochemical Company issued a directive on Sunday forbidding the reporters from attending the meeting.

In last 10 months, world oil giants such as French Total, German Linder Oil Co., and many other Spanish and Japanese companies had signed MoUs on oil and petrochemical industries with NOIC. Only German Linder Oil Co. had saw implementation and concrete results from its deal with NIOC. Most important development between NIOC and British Royal Dutch Shell has been reviving Iran’s $ 2.6bn in debts paid by the latter and sale of 1 million barrels of crude to Dutch Shell.
